Navratri- nine days of the festival will come to an end tomorrow with Dussehra. During this festival, nine different avatars of goddesses are worshipped by the devotees. Celebrated across Indian, each state has their different religious beliefs to celebrate this festival spread over a span of nine days.  While in the east and northeastern region of India it is observed as Durga Puja; in northern and western zones it is associated with Ram Lila and so on. In a nutshell, the point of this festivity is good winning over evil.

Just like always Bollywood took celebrated this festival with much pomp and grandeur. With celebs wishing their fans during this ongoing festival, many shared pictures of them worshipping the goddess. Such as Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Kajol seeking the blessing of Durga at a pandal in Mumbai, Shilpa Shetty sharing a picture of Kanjak puja conducted at her residence. Date:
Navratri, as well as Durga puja, will come to an end tomorrow with Dussehra/ Vijayadashami on October 8, 2019. 

Muhurat:
The puja mahurat for Vijayadashami begins at 2:04 pm and goes on till 2:50 pm, giving all the worshippers 50 minutes of duration to conduct and complete the holy rituals on Dusshera.

Puja Vidhi:
While some place idol of the goddess, some place a picture on a red cloth. On the Ghat sthapana, many devotees sow barley seeds in a clay pot along with a kalash filled with water, mostly Gangajal with a coconut placed on the top of kalash wrapped in red cloth.  This clay pot with barley seeds and kalash are worshipped for nine days and then are immersed in water on the tenth day.

Significance of Vijayadashami:
Like we mentioned above Vijayadashami is all about good winning over the bad, Dussehra is celebrating victory of lord Ram over evil Ravan. According to the mythological stories, the battle between Ram and Ravan began when Ravan abducts Ram’s wife and refuses to release her despite Ram’s polite request. On Dusshera a huge effigy of Ravan along with faces of his brothers Meghanada and Kumbakaran is burnt in many part of the country.
